Scotland’s minimum price of £0.50 per alcohol unit means the lowest price for an average bottle of red wine at 12.5% is £4.69, containing 9.4 units of alcohol. Compare to a bottle of whiskey, which at 70cl contains 28 units of alcohol and now costs a minimum of £14. Alcohol had been as low as £0.16 per unit in some places. (BBC.com February 26, 2018)
