More people have been into space than become Masters of Wine. With freer than 400 MWs in the world and a pass rate of around ten percent, the exam is one of the toughest in the world of wine. Those who get over the line have two things in common; tenacity and problem solving abilities. The main challenge, apart from the difficulty of the exams themselves, is that the program is self-study. This was one of the reasons Tim Wildman MW launched WineTutor.tv, an online resource to provide students with a road map for their journey and to share the techniques that helped him pass.

It’s no secret as to how difficult the process to become a MW is, applicants are required to sit an entry exam, which comprises a Theory (essay) and Practical (tasting) element. With so much to take care of, it can be difficult to stay on top of things, but that’s where WineTutor.tv founder Tim Wildman MW comes in. Since the site’s launch in September 2015 WineTutor.tv has already attracted an impressive global audience of almost 1500 registered viewers – including over 90% of the world’s MW student population.
