Phonobiology – Mozart Music Effect

At Paradiso di Frassina in Brunello di Montalcino: play Mozart in the vineyards (80 speakers) throughout the growing season. Effect: Vibrations keep pests (wild boar, deer, porcupines) away, minimize downy mildew (don't like the atmosphere). Result: use no pesticides, fungicides, SO2 - completely natural with no problems since 2005. This approach is called Phonobiology and Universities of Pisa and Firenze are following the experiment. DeMorgenzon winery (South Africa) also plays music for their vines, baroque in this example. Benefits: Delays budbreak, moderates growth (experimental block ripens 2.5 weeks later and at lower alcohol)
