Tim has amazing pointers and his highlights are helpful in quantifying the vast syllabus of the MW study by looking at what matters the most. He is practical in his approach and addresses in simplistic language. He brings out his experience as a student through relatable stories at a micro level. Equally, he also shows a pathway to help build a bigger picture for a potential Master of Wine. A focused roadmap on how to study efficiently!

More than talent, there is a great passion that moves Tim to create such great learning and inspirational moments. These two seminars have been the greatest illuminating events so far in my incipient MW journey.

The MW program and syllabus is overwhelming and it is not apparent how to best prepare oneself for the exams; the webinars gave a very insightful way to do so while being enjoyable and feeling open and participative. Tim cut through a lot of the fat and clearly communicated the important ideas in preparation for the exam in terms of study, technique, and mindset. Overall the sessions were extremely reassuring that the Master of Wine is an achievable goal.

It was the most insightful and encouraging presentation of content and how to address it logically. Most critically, it has helped me imagine a useful structure for my studies.

Thank you for such a brilliant theory session. Your approaches and techniques have been incredibly reassuring at this late stage leading up to the exam. I didn’t think I was missing key information about how to tackle the theory questions, but having watched the video, I now know how I can answer any question with limited knowledge. Most importantly without crumbling under pressure!

Tim's advice is always so helpful––particularly, I think, for the somewhat underestimated problem non-Brit students often face with understanding the British examination style. As an American I can confirm that strategy for this exam is quite different from what you'd use for typical US examination styles, and it does need to be learned for much of the standard MW student advice to make sense. Furthermore, I have ADHD and so it is especially critical for me to avoid the pitfalls of overstudying and rabbit-chasing. The tips presented in Tim's videos and tutoring sessions help me use my study time effectively, and I truly believe that's the best MW skill that can't be developed through hard work alone. Tim’s course has brought me much clarity needed on how to prepare effectively for S1A. Having to face a tough year of Covid and dealing with relocation to another country, Tim’s webinars are godsend to me during this stressful period. I managed to regain the right focus and motivation to push on. English is not my first language so it might be sometimes very difficult for me to write beautiful essays. The way you lead us is very smart and I think you are the only one who showed me the end of the tunnel in the program! I definitely get the direction how to pass the exam. It is not only study hard but study smart at least I have got an idea now.

I liked very much the webinar, it was very constructive and gave me some really useful tips! I really enjoyed the exercise we did of constructing a convincing answer from scratch through the example driven technique, brilliant! And it was sort of reassuring hearing you say that perhaps the Theory requires less efforts and is less demanding then we provably think! 🙂 ( In contrast to the Practical!)

Your sessions last year on the practical and theory exams were invaluable to my preparation for the S1A. Because of your seminars, I finally understood what was expected and HOW to study. Unfortunately, the seminars I took were only one month before the exam, but in that month I was 100 times more effective in preparing and no longer felt like I was spinning my wheels.
